contestant #1
My name is Tiffany (PrevAil) Wright, I am 39 and the oldest of 7 brothers and 2 sisters. I recently got married, and have 2 step children. I was born and raised between New Jersey and New York where I graduated from high school and attended Virginia State University majoring in Child Psychology and later Devry University where I studied Juvenile counseling. I am now a resident in Maryland where I have lived for 18 years. I currently work for Job corps, where I am a residental advisor for at risk youth.
I am a lover of all things positive and things that enrich the mind, body and soul. I’ve gone through a long process in life which has groomed me to be the person I am today. I enjoy reading, writing, spending time with friends, family and now my extended family. I love what the word family represents, unity, bond and unconditional love. I come from a very big family, but never felt that family connection because we were so divided. Alpha Psi Kappa Fraternity has become that family that I have always wanted but never had. They have helped me to believe in myself and walk with my head held high with confidence.

Why I would be a good representation of Alpha Psi Kappa

I have always followed the principles of the organization by making sure that I am always my bruh’s keeper and adhering to the mottos and principles of service, unity, and leadership. I show pride by always conducting myself in a respectful manner because I know someone, somewhere is always watching. I make sure I am constantly on my best behavior by staying professional, showing respect for self and others not only for myself but for the members and for outsiders looking in. I live by the motto of girls makes excuses, women make it work.
I will always be a strong contributor to the organization and for my community. I will lead others into greatness by setting an example from my thoughts, words and actions in order to help groom others into perfect gentle WoMen, so that they may be a better version of themselves just as the leaders of this organization did for me.

Elevation of A Kane
#2 Fall 2016
Elevation of A Kane
Born alongside the cold banks of Lake Erie in 1963 in a home for unwedded mothers to most my future already looked grim but God definitely had a plan for my life. God took His time pruning me in such a way that even I can’t explain it. Through years of heartache and pain God carried me every step of the way even when I didn’t realize He was. For years I felt as though my life had no meaning or reason and I walked that path. On a cold winter day in 1982 while serving in the US Army I was one of many who responded to an urgent call for help.
What I was to see changed my life forever, what I was to hear would become my life song. That very day God took my pain and used it to be a blessing to others. He took my hand and stretched out in manner that I could not help but to embrace lives that had been shattered. That very night God spoke and made it clear that my suffering would become someone’s victory, that my pain would become someone’s blessing. God swept me up and wrapped me the peace that is beyond anyone’s understanding. At this point I understood that God had called me to be a blessing to others by His design and guidance. Does this make me better than anyone else no, but what it does make me is a servant of His Children.
God has not stopped using me as a servant to His people. People ask why I do the things that I do. My response to them is “I am called according to His purpose” when He says GO! I GO! Whether it’s into a church where lives have been lost but the purpose is to comfort the living I GO! Whether it’s going through hell and high waters of a hurricane to reach those who are in search of dry ground, I GO!
The question posed is “why I would be a good representation of Alpha Psi Kappa Fraternity, Inc.” Alpha Psi Kappa Fraternity, Inc. embodies everything that I have been called to be. I am the NEW voice of Alpha Psi Kappa Fraternity, Inc. That voice that is heard in the midst of chaos. I am the new heartbeat of Alpha Psi Kappa Fraternity, Inc. “I am the “Elevation of a Kane”, I lead by example, I lead through service. I am not afraid to get my hands dirty. I am not afraid to extend the love that God gives so freely to me each and every day. To represent our organization in any manner is an honor and a privilege but again I am called according to His purpose not my own. Being a “True Kane” is part of God’s divine plan. Title or not I will forever be shrouded in “Baby Blue and Khaki Kream”. I’ll say it again, I am the “THE ELEVATION OF A KANE” Like Theodore Roosevelt who walked softly and carried a big stick, I walk softly and carry a KANE. Title or not I will forever represent what is to be a human being kind to other humans. I will forever represent and support ALPHA PSI KAPPA FRATERNITY, INNNCORPORATED! And all that it stands for. Until my last breath here on earth I will sweat BABY BLUE SWEAT, I will cry BABY BLUE TEARS, and I will BLEED BABY BLUE BLOOD.
